Advanced Scuba Diving Certifications

At All American Scuba, our advanced scuba diving certifications in New Jersey offer structured, hands-on training for divers eager to explore new depths, acquire valuable skills, and enjoy a range of specialty experiences. We guide every diver through each step with patient instruction, flexible scheduling, and a focus on fun and learning.
Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver
Our advanced scuba diving certifications in New Jersey start with the Advanced Open Water Diver course. This program builds on your basic skills with guided, hands-on instruction. You will complete two required dives:
- Deep Diving: Explore underwater environments below 60 feet.
- Underwater Navigation: Learn proper compass use underwater.
In addition, you choose three specialty dives based on your interests and the local environment, for a total of five dives. Some popular specialties include:

PADI Rescue Diver
Rescue Diver training is an essential part of advanced scuba diving certifications. The course focuses on preventing minor problems from becoming major issues and building confidence underwater. Students practice rescue exercises in both confined water and open water under expert guidance.
Course Requirements and Highlights
- Open Water (or Junior Open Water) Diver certification required
- Completion of Rescue Diver eLearning and confined water exercises
- Open water Rescue Exercises require completion of the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive or Advanced Open Water Diver certification
- CPR and First Aid training within 24 months (can be completed through our Emergency First Response® course)
- Ages 12–14 earn Junior Rescue Diver certification, automatically converting at age 15
Rescue Diver training is often considered one of the most rewarding courses for divers, combining skill-building, confidence, and fun.
Master Scuba Diver
The Master Scuba Diver rating is the pinnacle of advanced scuba diving certifications in New Jersey, reserved for the most dedicated recreational divers. Fewer than two percent of divers reach this level.
Requirements for Master Scuba Diver Certification
- Minimum age: 12 years old
- Prerequisites: Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver (or qualifying certifications)
- Completion of five PADI Specialty Diver certifications
- Minimum of 50 logged dives
