At All American Scuba, our program for becoming a dive master in New Jersey gives students the training, confidence, and hands-on experience needed to lead divers safely and inspire others to care about the ocean. Become a Professional Dive Leader

The path to dive master training teaches you how to lead underwater tours, assist with scuba classes, and mentor new divers. The PADI Divemaster certification is the most recognized professional diving credential in the world, opening doors to paid opportunities and work in exciting locations. You gain the skills to be the diver everyone trusts and admires.

What You Learn

As you progress toward becoming a Divemaster, you will:

Certification Requirements

Achieving the PADI Divemaster rating requires a combination of training, logged experience, and professional-level preparation. Our structured approach keeps each requirement clear and manageable for every student working toward becoming a dive master in New Jersey.

Prerequisites

  • PADI Rescue Diver certification (or qualifying certification)
  • Emergency First Response® Primary and Secondary Care training within the past 24 months
  • Minimum of 40 logged dives
  • Age 18 or older (15 for Junior Divemaster)
  • Medical clearance from a physician within the past 12 months

Course Structure

Students completing the program for Divemaster follow a mix of eLearning and in-water training:
  • PADI eLearning: 10–16 hours (excluding Dive Theory eLearning)
  • Practical Skills & Leadership Work: Conducted in confined water and open water
  • Timeline: Varies based on student schedule and comfort level
This combination allows students to learn at home, practice in the water, and grow into confident leaders at their own pace.
