Training for Open Water Scuba Diver

Your First Level of PADI Certification
Our course for open-water scuba diver is the starting point for every new diver in the PADI system. All PADI Certifications are international and never expire, making this a lifelong achievement. Students ages 10 and up can begin this journey, and our structured guidelines ensure every age group trains safely and responsibly.
Certification By Age
A 10-year-old student may take the full course and earn a Junior Open-Water Diver Certification, diving with a PADI Professional afterward. At the age of 12, a student may dive with any guardian who is an open-water scuba diver. At age 14, a student may complete the full course and dive with certified buddies.
For students who earn the Junior certification at age 10, it automatically converts to the Senior certification at age 14 without requiring additional courses. These clear paths help families begin scuba diving together while following all the requirements for an Open-Water Scuba Diver.
Three-Phase Training Program
Our structured process ensures that every open-water scuba diver learns skills at a manageable pace. Each step builds comfort and safety, preparing students for real dives in real conditions.
Phase 1: E-Learning at Your Own Pace
Students can order their e-learning materials from PADI or from us at a discounted rate. The digital program consists of six modules that students complete at home, allowing them to save their progress along the way. This keeps training flexible while reinforcing key skills for open-water scuba divers.
Phase 2: Confined Water Training
Two pool sessions of about three hours each cover gear setup, safe entries, underwater skills, and controlled emergency ascents. If a student does not feel fully comfortable, we offer a third session at no extra cost. Our focus on patience and safety helps every student gain the confidence expected of an open water scuba diver.
Phase 3: Open Water Dives
Once students show readiness, we arrange guided quarry or boat dives to complete their certification. Skills practiced in the pool are repeated in natural environments under instructor supervision. We strive to maintain a ratio of one instructor to three students, ensuring safe and personalized training for every open-water scuba diver. After finishing all requirements, students receive their certification promptly.
A Path Toward Advanced Training
Graduates who continue into Advanced Open-Water Diver training can access additional specialties and learn to dive safely to 130 feet, PADI’s recreational depth limit. This progression helps every open-water scuba diver develop skills for new underwater experiences.
